1 light

Using just one SXT3200 head with a 60 x 60 (24"x24") Stellar softbox , we are able to control the lighting on our model and the background when the background is close enough to be lite by the one light.

Placed to the left of the model at around 2 feet in front and to the side excess lighting from the Softbox is captured on the background.

Also note that Donna is close to the background.(2/3 feet)

2 Light

Using 2 SXT3200 heads with a Silver Umbrella on the left around 1 foot above the model and 3/4 feet back towards the photographer.

A translucent umbrella is placed on the right around 5/6 feet to produce a soft fill in light on the shadow areas of the face whilst still maintaining depth to the face.

Here Donna has been moved closer towards the camera but some light is still hitting the background from both umbrellas.

3 Light

Using a similar set up as the 2 light above but with the addition of a 3rd light positioned very close to the background to create the halo effect.

(distance must not be closer than 5 inch's)

Here you should also note the exposure is a little different to help the halo effect, the foreground exposure has been reduced by around ½ an f stop by moving the lights a little further away from the model to approximatly 4/5 feet.

Donna has also moved towards the Photographer around 3/4 feet from the background.

Beauty dish (RF5000)

With an additional accessory RF5000 and INT500 250 watt Tungsten lamp, you can use the SXT3200 to produce stunning effects like this image.

You will note that the Beauty dish has been placed much closer then the softbox or silver umbrella to the camera's position. The idea is to create a very flattering light and brightness in the eyes and round catch lights.

The Translucent umbrella has been repositioned behind the model pointing at both the background and the side of the model to reveal additional light on the side of the face adding depth and shape to the cheek bones. An Interfit Masters Verona Background has also been used to compliment the models eyes and top.

The distance between Donna and the background is around 4/5 feet but the photographer has moved much closer towards Donna to fill the frame.
